Terms of Use
Last updated: June 14, 2026
Welcome, and thank you for reading. A few quiet ground rules.
This is a personal site. Everything here reflects my own thoughts and writing, not the views of any firm, client, employer, or organization I am associated with. I do own a law firm, and I offer services apart from this website. An attorney-client relationship should never be assumed and is only entered expressly under a Representation Agreement (if we haven’t gotten to the contract with e-signature, we’re not in a relationship!)
Nothing here is legal advice. I am an attorney, but I am not your attorney, and nothing on this site is legal advice or a substitute for it. Reading this site, subscribing to my writing, or sending me a message does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send me confidential or time-sensitive legal information through this site, and please do not act, or decline to act, on anything you read here without speaking to a qualified lawyer or other relevant financial, health, or tax professional about your own situation.
The writing belongs to me. The words, images, and other content on this site are mine unless noted otherwise, and they are protected by copyright and other laws. You are welcome to read, share a link, or quote a short passage with attribution. Please do not reproduce substantial portions, republish, or use my work commercially without my permission. If you do, it just may be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Use the site kindly. Please do not use this site in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or that interferes with how it works for others.
Links elsewhere. This site may link to other places on the internet. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for what you find there.
No guarantees. I offer this site as it is. While I write carefully, I make no promises that everything here is complete, current, or free of error, and I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, to the fullest extent the law allows.
The law that governs. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes. I may update these terms from time to time, and the date above will tell you when.
